Barista

A day like...

You start your day by adjusting the espresso grinder, you brew the first batch of brew of the day. You set up all your supplies and you are ready to welcome the first guests while enjoying your delicious cup of coffee. You open and Pieter, a regular guest, who enjoys trying different types of coffee arrives first. This time you recommend a Pourover to him.

As a “coffee nerd,” you get to indulge yourself on the San Remo Cafe Racer and with our variety of coffee varieties. You have a real passion for coffee and enjoy communicating this to our guests. No question or request is too crazy for you. At the coffee bar, we work with roasters who are as passionate as we are, such as: Manhattan Coffee Roasters, Rum Baba, Stooker, Keen and Spot On.

During your shift, you will ensure that the bar and adjacent tables remain tidy. With your radiant presence and enchanting coffees, you will make your guests happy. At the end of your working day, you practice that new filter coffee and cycle home satisfied.

You ...

• Have experience as a barista;

• Are eager to learn;

• Are super passionate about all things coffee/tea;

• Are available at least 1 day a week on weekends (don't worry, you won't be working all weekend)!

• Are available a minimum of 3 days if on a part-time contract;

• Are super guest-oriented;

• Are a team player who enjoys working with young and enthusiastic colleagues;

• Speak the English language.

Your responsibilities...

• You will brew the most delicious specialty coffees; we are not the best hotel coffee bar in Amsterdam for nothing!

• As a Barista you don't just make coffee, but with all your knowledge and enthusiasm you create a WOW-effect with the guest;

• Together with the team of Baristas you run the entire coffee bar (and yes, that includes those delicious pastries in the display case!);

• Helping out and assisting colleagues in EAST.

Of course, you won't do all this alone! As a Barista you will be part of Team EAST. A young, driven team with a passion for F&B. As in the rest of the hotel there is a relaxed, friendly and informal atmosphere in the department which will make you feel at home very quickly.
