As a Community & Student Relations Employee, you create a safe, welcoming, and vibrant community at Hotel Casa Amsterdam!

A day as...

You start your day in the Marketing & Community office, sharing what a great success last night’s student event was. You check if the student left the lounge tidy. Oops, some beer crates are left behind. You quickly reach out to the students involved to have them take care of it next time.     

Back at your desk, you notice a bunch of unread WhatsApp messages about renting conditions, time to dive in. Also, the results of the student satisfaction survey are in. Together with the Community Coordinator you brainstorm on ideas to further improve the community.  

After that a meet up with two students. They want to organize a board game night next month. You discuss the practicalities and with your guidance, they feel confident it will be a great event.  

After lunch, you walk through the lobby and chat with some students. One of them just moved in and is finding it hard to connect. You want to make sure every student feels at home, safe and happy at CASA. You listen, give tips and inform the floor buddies so they can help the student to settle in. The phone is ringing! The reception informs you a student on the 8th floor set out the fire alarm in her room and there need to be consequences. You discuss this with the Community Coordinator and together you come up with a plan on how to handle the situation.  

Before you know it, it’s 17:30 and time for an after-work drink with your colleagues. With a great feeling you look back on an exciting day where you ensured a safe, educational and fun community, giving students the perfect springboard for their future! 

You are...

  • A natural connector and a good communicator who easily builds relationships and creates a sense of community 

  • Social, approachable, and confident in engaging different types of people 

  • Engaged, empathetic and a good listener. You are able to address difficult topics with care and finding well-fitted solutions 

  • Strong organizational skills: you bring overview, structure, plan ahead, and follow through 

  • Proactive and ownership-driven, you don’t wait, you act 

  • A team player who collaborates easily across departments 

  • Good in English, Dutch language is not a requirement but it’s a plus! 

Your responsibilities...

  • Build real connections: you’re a familiar face in CASA. You connect easily with students, are visible around the building, and always open for a chat, idea or feedback. 

  • Keep the community updated and active: you make sure students know what’s happening through clear and engaging communication. You inspire students to take initiative and support them in bringing their ideas to life, from small gatherings to bigger events. You help create activities that are fun, inclusive, and bring people together. 

  • Ensure a safe and positive community: you’re in tune with the community. You pick up signals from students and the community, sense where is actions is needed, spot opportunities, and share them to keep improving the CASA experience. 

  • Make it happen: you ensure events run smoothly by organizing the practical side and supporting students where needed.

Of course, you won't be doing all of this alone! As a Community & Students Relations Employee, you will collaborateclosely with Alessandra, the Community Coordinator. Together, you form an energetic team with one shared mission: supporting students and ensuring that all initiatives and experiences within CASA align with the bigger picture CASAaims to create - a warm, safe, inclusive, and engaged environment for all!
